M81 and Friends

Big galaxies like M81 don't live alone: they have smaller, satellite galaxies around, together forming a group of galaxies. In this ASAS-SN image, we can see M81, and also its famous companion, M82. In the lower-left part of the image, you can see NGC 3077, quite an interesting galaxy as well. If you look carefully, you will be also able to find KDG 061 and Holmberg IX, home of the binary peanut star that we studied with the LBT.
