ABSTRACT

Atomic Data For The Analysis of Emission Lines
By Anil K. Pradhan and Jianfang Peng

``The Analysis of Emission Lines" , Space Telescope Science Institute Symposium Series No. 8, Ed: R.E.Williams and M.Livio, Cambridge University Press (1995).

Within the last decade or so new atomic data has become available for most atomic systems of interest in astrophysics. Recent progress in atomic processes relevant to spectral formation is reviewed and the data sources are listed. Recommended transition probabilities, wavelengths, and effective collision strengths are presented for a number of nebular emission lines for many atoms and ions abundant in H II regions and other astrophysical sources.

ATOMIC DATA TABLE - Please Read Note Below

In this table all data pertain to fine structure transitions; however, in cases where the fine structure collision strengths are not available the total LS multiplet value is listed under the FIRST fine structure transition within the multiplet, followed by blanks for the other transitions in the multiplet.

New collision strengths and transition probabilities are being calculated under the Iron Project including fine structure and relativistic effects using the Breit-Pauli R-matrix (BPRM) method. Please consult those references for more up-do-date data than the Pradhan and Peng compilation.

ELECTRON COLLISIONS WITH ATOMIC IONS
By Anil K. Pradhan and Hong Lin Zhang

This review provides an introduction to collisional calculations and methods, including tables of evaluated compilation of data sources in the format introduced in the earlier review by Pradhan and Gallagher (Atomic Data and Nuclear Data Tables 52, 227, 1992). The following two tables are part of this review (as well as the Atomic Data Table above).
