Introduction:

  • NEW NOTICE: NORAD-Atomic-Data has new address at NORAD-Atomic-Data or http://norad.astronomy.ohio-state.edu All new information will be added to the new address and current address will phase out sometime in future

    NORAD-Atomic-Data, the on-line database based at the Ohio State University, presents calculated Atomic Data files are for:

    - i) Energies, ii) Oscillator Strengths, iii) Photoionization, iv) Electron-Ion Recombination, v) Lifetimes, vi) Collision Strengths (OMG)

  • Current data are for (December, 2013): 119 (91 + 28) atoms & ions

  • New data are added with publications
  • Would appreciate acknowledgement of usage of NORAD-Atomic-Data web-page in your publications - SNN

  • NORAD-Atomic-Data contains large amount data relevant to various atomic processes, such as, excitation of energies, photoionization, electron-ion recombination, radiative transitions, lifetimes, etc. They are obtained mainly from large scale R-matrix calculations carried out at the Ohio Supercomputer Center (OSC) by Nahar et al
  • A significant part of the atomic data were obtained under the two international collaborations, the Opacity Project and the Iron Project. The data sets contain atomic energy levels, photoionization cross sections, recombination cross sections and rate coefficients, oscillator strengths, lifetimes and other transition parameters. It also has collision strengths for electron-impact excitation for a few atomic species. These atomic processes are considered for large number of energy levels, typically going up to n=10 that are needed for complete astrophysical models, diagnostics of astrophysical and laboratory plasma. Hence each ion has significant amount of data.
  • All files are in standard ascii character format for easy downloading and direct application to models. Spectroscopic information for all levels and transitions are provided. The spectroscopic identifications are given mainly in the energy tables. Then can connect easily to the numerical identification codes given in cross section and rate coefficient files.
  • The atomic data are either new/updated over TOPbase, on radiative atomic processes in Astrophysical & Laboratory Plasmas.
