MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observer's Report for 2005 Feb 09 Observer(s): Vestergaard, Denney Institution(s): Steward, OSU Instrument: ccds Worked for 0.33 hours (part of the night) Conditions were Overcast most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Clouds all night. Beg: Overcast, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Overcast, Winds Light & Variable End: Overcast, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: It was cloudy all night, but we did get a thinning of the cloud layer in the middle of the night. We took the opportunity to open up and run through the basics on how to open, go to star and focus, place objects on the slit, set up for guiding, etc. However, shortly after getting started the clouds thickened again. We closed up again that the skies and weather maps showed very little chance of improvements. However, those 20-30 minutes were important for showing the next observer in practice how these tasks are performed. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2005 Feb 10 [5:34:09]
