CTIO Yale 1-meter Telescope & Y4KCam

This webpage describes the Y4KCam instrument operated by the SMARTS Consortium on the Yale 1-meter telescope at CTIO.

The Y4KCam is a 4Kx4K CCD camera optimzed for wide-field broad-band imaging. It has a 12-position filter wheel and uses a corrector lens (doubling as the dewar window) provides a nearly undistorted 20x20-arcminute field of view. The CCD has excellent blue sensitivity, especially at U-band. The Y4KCam began regular observing operations at the 1-meter telescope in July 2005.
