YALO Nightly Observing Report for 1999 Dec 2 Observer: Juan Espinoza Observed all night from 0020 to 0840 UTC. Conditions were Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the summary for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 2.2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 2.0 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 1.6 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: Well... Program accomplished with some modifications. For starters I had a crash on the second secuence of hd209458 and in my hurrying around I forgot to check the IR-tilts and because of that images ir991202.0014 to ir991202.0091 have a slight error on the starting tilt position. Should be: t1=1349 t2=2316 t3=1891 was : t1=1379 t2=2316 t3=1861 Of course I corrected the problem as soon as I became aware of it. As far as keeping the object star and it's comparison one within the optical field, It was not offseted in an orderly fashion as I had done in past days but in many other ways in order to keep the target inside the chip (both IR & CCD) (better seeing than yesterday, though...) Rene Mendez: 2mass2223 was not possible to observe because of out of reach. instead I replaced it with den0255 -- I figured that it was the best thing to do. I am sending to La Serena tapes for: PORTUGAL: 991103 - 991201 YALO (yale): 991122 - 991201 CTIO_MAZA: 991130 - 991202 All other programs observed with no complications. (thank god!) Crash: same as always. Cheers, juan ------------------------------ Submitted by Juan Espinoza on 1999 Dec 3 [3:30:18]
