Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.6 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 1.6 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm End: Seeing 1.4 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: Tonight I discovered a considerable problem: When the System crashes (the IR terminal) it fails to return the original position of the optics for IR. The difference between the original position and the and the offseted ones is: Correct Wrong T1=1349 t1=1349 t2=2316 t2=2256 t3=1891 t3=1951 The differences are considerable on T2 and T3 and as far s I can tell it has been happening for at least the last three days. Today I corrected the problem and I noticed that everytime the system crashes the Tilts returns to the same Wrong position. Rene Mendez -- 2mass2223 is a tough target to observe since it has no guiding star in the vicinity. After consulting the guys here they tell that observing it without the help of guider it would be a a `chancy' thing to do but acceptable if you think is OK. 2mass223 was observed twice and I copied them into your directory -- CTIO_MENDEZ All other targets have guiding stars and as far as I can tell they are right on target. David is alive and very much healthy - I spoke to him today and he's ready to go - needless to say I am very happy for him and me Today I sent to La Serena a box of tapes for Portugal and one CHILE_MAZA Portugal: 9911106 - 991118 CHILE_MAZA: 991116 - 991118 ------------------------------ Submitted by Juan Espinoza on 1999 Nov 21 [3:38:08]
