YALO Telescope Observer's Report for 2000 Aug 11 Observer: Juan Espinoza Observed for only a few hours from 2310 to 0915 UTC. Conditions were Mixed most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the summary for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.6 arcsec, Smoke, Winds High, HAZE Mid: Clear, Winds High End: Seeing 1.4 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds High, Very Few Cirrus Observing Summary: Well, this night was different... We had a moderately windy start only to be halted by a power failure of a serious nature at around 16:30-LST wich meant a complete shut down of all computers and electronic equipment by orders of mountain staff. This lasted about three hours. I guess the weather gods are not in a good mood, also... Once up and running, winds were at an average of 40 mph for most of the night, making observations impossible. Re-started observing at 23:50 LST after winds drop down to about 30 mph (sorry, Ohio). XTE: 21.88 cheers ------------------------------ Submitted by Juan Espinoza on 2000 Aug 12 [6:10:23]
