YALO Nightly Observing Report for 2000 Feb 24 Observer: Juan Espinoza Observed all night from 0020 to 0940 UTC. Conditions were Mixed most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the summary for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.6 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Light & Variable, haze Mid: Seeing 1.6 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 1.4 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Program completed but modified -- Portugal object targets not observed because of probable cirrus. Some elongated images. Rene M's target not observed because telescope was pointing almost directly into the moon. David and I have been noticing a very strange pattern with the telescope: At around 0930UT it jumps about 1 or 2 arc seconds East for no apparent reason wich as you will notice it causes a double image effect, obvious... At first I thought it was the winds but I'm starting to see that it's been happening every night at exactly the same time and not at any other time during the night. Weird !! I had a couple of Ir crashes and as usual I recovered with no major complications. That is all ------------------------------ Submitted by Juan Espinoza on 2000 Feb 25 [4:55:55]
