YALO Telescope Observer's Report for 2000 Jun 30 Observer: Juan Espinoza Observed for only a few hours from 0250 to 0940 UTC. Conditions were Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the summary for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.4 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Light & Variable, thick cirrus Mid: Seeing 1.8 arcsec, Overcast, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 1.8 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Light & Variable, thick cirrus Observing Summary: Hello - What a murphy night... As soon as I finished taking the first focus frames, we had a power outage at around 2250-UT that halted all telescopes on the mountain except the 4m. The main reason beeing that all domes were not operational. Something to do with the UPS. The problem was solved at 0220-UT but I didn't start until about half of an hour later because of a dome reset button that needed to be pushed... so I had to wait for that... I know what button it is now..... If that wasn't bad enough, Once we started observing, clouds moved in from the South-west and remained above until around 0600-UT (all of this is a real pity because we had really clear skies for the first three or so hours). Most Ohio targets were observed in I band only in order to get the most amount of targets done. Dr Nick Suntzeff's target partially observed -- Clouds moved in at around half of the program (end of the night). XTE : 20.22 (observed only once to fit the most targets due to weather and technical problems). Aql : 3.43 ******* 4u : Not observed (out of limits) Cheers ------------------------------ Submitted by Juan Espinoza on 2000 Jul 1 [6:17:38]
