YALO Telescope Observer's Report for 2000 Oct 16 Observer: Kathy Vivas Observed all night from 23:45 to 09:20 UTC. Conditions were Mixed most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the summary for details. Seeing and Weather: High Winds from 7:30 until 9:30. Beg: Seeing 1.4 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 1.6 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 1.8 arcsec, Clear, Winds High Observing Summary: There were some patchy clouds at the very begining of the night. After that, it was clear. During the observations of the first 2 objects, there was a sudden jump of the telescope (the guide star moved about 40 units North suddenly). Because of this, I repeated the vj sequence of Aql X-1. The other jump only affected the last exposure in the sequence of GRS1915 (ir001016.0020) and I didn't repeat it. Again, I had problems with the wind at the end of the night. This time I couldn't do anything else but wait until the fields were at the west (HA>+1:30) where the wind doesn't move the telescope that much. Because of this, I couldn't do most of the objects at the end of the program. Aql X-1: R=1.00 V=1.69 R=0.85 ------------------------------ Submitted by Kathy Vivas on 2000 Oct 17 [6:00:21]
