YALO Telescope Observer's Report for 2000 Oct 9 Observer: Juan Espinoza Observed all night from 23:50 to UTC. Conditions were Mixed most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the summary for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.4 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 1.6 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 2.2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: Program mostly completed - We had some clouds for the first hour and it remained clear up until around 05:00 UT when a strip of low clouds crossed our path for about an hour and a half and than we had clear skies for the rest of the night. Target 2mass2223 for A00B0261 (MENDEZ) was not observed because it was too close to the moon and therefore impossible to find the only faint guide star that is good for this target. Lisbon target J0111-1357 was observed in the bad part of the chip. One thing to notice about this target is that I began observing it with the object galaxy falling on the very middle part of the CCD chip and Kathy suggested that it would be better to observe it on the bad part completely, wich made a lot of sense, and so we did. A0620 was observed with only the first file for there was no more time left to observe it, as the night ended. Magnitude for Aql X-1: R = 1.17 V = 1.81 R = 0.81 around 23:30 LST Kathy V. is ready to begin David's run and i'm confident that she will do the nightly Queue even with the little Yalo training she has gotten. Until next week juan ------------------------------ Submitted by Juan Espinoza on 2000 Oct 10 [5:27:12]
