A1143: Fourth reading assignment
By now you should have read all of chapters 1-4, chapter 5.1-5.2,
and chapters 6.1-6.4. Section 4.3 covered dark matter
(Part 6 of the course notes).
Sections 6.1-6.4 introduce Einstein's theory of
gravity and correspond approximately to Barbara
Ryden's guest lecture. Sections 6.5 and 6.6,
on black holes and quasars, are optional.
If you're behind on some of this reading, now would be
a good time to catch up.
The new reading to go with Part 8 of the course
is Chapter 7, and for now you can focus on
sections 7.1-7.3. You should read these sections
by Wednesday, 10/31.
