(ICIMACS = Instrument Control and Image Acquisition System
If the external SCSI cable is connected between the WC and another computer, both computers should be started at the same time, or both machines may not be able to use their shared SCSI disk.
1) Check that the cables behind the WC correspond to any labels on the WC case, and that they are firmly attached.
2) Turn on the WC (and any other computer connected to it). Make sure both of
its monitors are on. Let it run
until it reaches the DOS prompt, or until the WC program starts. If you are at
the DOS prompt, type the instrument name to start the program. Wait until you get
the instrument name prompt at the bottom of the screen.
3) There is now a row of status "lights" on the monochrome monitor, between the status window and the command window. Their nominal values vary from instrument to instrument, so check the start up procedure for the particular instrument you are using.
Remember: The ultimate fix is simply to power down and restart.
