From: Hood, Nancy [mailto:nhood@cph.osu.edu] Sent: Thu 6/18/2009 12:50 PM To: Alburuj Rahman Cc: JIAN WANG Subject: OSU Summer research program - final info for June 22 Dear Alburuj, This email contains final details for the OSU Summer Research Experience Program - please read carefully! 1. Your research placement: As you know, you have been placed with Dr. Jian Wang for the summer, and will continue your current research with him to the extent that it contributes to moving his NIH-related research forward. The first week is primarily research-related training, and you have probably already completed much of it. On Monday, let's discuss which trainings you will still need to complete for this program. 2. Parking, dress, etc.: You should receive a packet in the mail late this week that includes parking information, a one-day parking pass or COTA bus pass (depending on what you requested), and several maps to help you find the building and parking locations for the first day. In case you do not receive this packet, we will meet in Hopkins Hall, Room 354 at 8am Monday morning. You can always find this building using the on-line campus map at www.osu.edu. The on-line map will also show you options for visitor parking. Please dress professionally on Monday because you will be having lunch with Dr. Rebecca Jackson, MD, the director of the Center for Clinical and Translational Science. 3. Personal identification: You will need two types of personal identification to complete the hiring paperwork on Monday, June 22. Most people use a valid driver's license AND social security card. A valid passport can be used instead. The last page of the attached I-9 form lists other acceptable forms of identification and employment authorization. 4. Bank account information: If you want direct deposit, please bring your back account number and routing number with you on Monday. However, you do not have to choose direct deposit. 5. Agenda for week of June 22: The agenda for the week is attached. We will meet in the same building and room on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. You will be provided lunch on Monday, but will be on your own for lunch on Wednesday and Friday. On Friday, most of you will be meeting with your host investigators sometime during the day. Please let me know if you have any questions. I look forward to meeting you next week!
