Related Readings in Universe

The textbook for this course is Universe (7th edition) by Roger A. Freedman & William J. Kauffmann III, published by W.H. Freeman and Company. Readings to accompany the course lectures are assigned by Units, rather than by individual lectures, though some lectures will list related readings in the book. Note that these are not reading assignments per se, but only suggested readings corresponding to major topic areas covered by the lectures.

Please bear in mind that I am not lecturing straight from the book, nor is it my primary resource. The textbook is a secondary reference for this course, and so some topics will be covered in greater (or lesser) detail as its suits how I've designed the course material. The order chosen by the authors is also sometimes different than how I present the material, so don't be alarmed if some topics come in different places in the book than in the lecture.
