Astronomy 161
Electronic Images & Graphics
The links below lead to indexes of the electronic images and
line drawing I have collected/created/scanned for use in Astronomy 161.
Sizes indicate the total size of the images on the thumbnail sheets.
There is a similar image collection for Astronomy
162. The collection currently contains 1663
images.
These images are provided without annotation, although the names are
usually suggestive of the subject and sometimes the source. All are in
either GIF or JPG format.
Copyright Information
Many of these images are in the public domain (e.g., any NASA imaging).
NOAO, STScI, Chandra, and NASA et al. usually ask that you acknowledge
the image source on your pages. Some of the line drawings are originals
rendered in PowerPoint and then turned into GIFs (see my original graphics page for the
originals). In all cases please give credit if using on webpages, and
refer requests for copies to the original sources. If in doubt, just
ask, I can usually remember the source.
