Piano
My sophomore year at Lawrence University I saw a concert by
pianist Cecile Licad. I have been interested in classical
piano - and especially Chopin - ever since.
I started taking lessons and although I
took a few years off at the start of grad school, I now play daily.
Some works I've spent time on include:
Chopin:
- Preludes: Op.28, Numbers 4, 6, 7, 15;
- Nocturne: Op.27, Number 1;
- Etudes: Op.10, Number 9 and Op.25, Number 12;
- Mazurkas: Op.67, Number 4 (Posthumous)
- Waltzes: Op.64, Number 2 in C-sharp minor; Op.69, Number 2 in B minor;
Posthumous A minor
Joplin:
- Solace: A Mexican Serenade
- Maple Leaf Rag
Schumann:
- Fantasy
- Carneval, Op. 9, Number 12
