Sept. 18th, 1997 Occultation of Saturn by the Moon

Images taken on Sept. 18th, 1997 with the 1.2-meter telescope at FLWO using the AndyCam CCD camera in 1kx1k binned mode (0.62 arcsec/pixel image scale). I used the H-alpha filter with 0.1sec exposure time. Saturn is enhanced by a factor of 2.5-3. Here I show several 800x800 sub-images showing the Saturn re-appearing from behing the Moon, taken every 35 seconds:

This is a composite 900x900 image made ot two images taken few minutes apart, the Moon is about to cover Saturn:
