The Lighter Side of Cosmology
From back in the days when I still had brain cells to spare here are:
-
The Dark Matter Flowchart.
Created by Tod Lauer,
Tom Statler, Barbara Ryden, and myself, in the Peyton Hall basement, somewhere
around 1986.
- Galaxy Formation!
The sole copy of the "Galaxy Formation!" boardgame, complete with
artwork and caricatures of famous cosmologists by Lisa Florman,
resides in my office. However, for a brief overview without the visuals,
you can read my contribution to the 1988 "Epoch of Galaxy Formation"
conference proceedings here.
-
The Dark Matter Rap: A Cosmological History for the MTV Generation,
from November, 1992. Written and performed by yours truly.
The debut performance took place at the Institute for Advanced Study
Tuesday Lunch. Thanks to Paul Schechter for converting one of my
ancient cassettes to an mp3.
If you want the lyrics, you can get them
here.
They were published (in slightly different, pre-dark energy form)
as an Appendix to a conference proceedings available
here.
-
Some more recent (March, 1997) musings on supernovae and the
death star.
