    AWARDS:

  • Under a STEM scheme, there are 7 annual awards, 3 for the teachers and 4 the best students, in Physics have been established at Aligarh Muslim University

  • Teachers awards:
    i) two Teacher of the Year awards are from teaching only (one from main campus and one from Women's College)
    ii) one Distinguished Teach of the Year award from teaching and research

  • Student awards:
    i) Two annual awards for the best Ph.D. thesis of Muslim students, one male and one female, in Physics
    i) Two annual awards for the best Muslim students, one male and one female, in the 3rd (final) year B.Sc. in Physics

  • The complete 2011 proposal including the teachers awards was approved by the university in 2012

  • The proposal was extended in 2013 to incorporate the Ph.D. thesis prizes and one faculty award from the women's college



    OBJECTIVES:


    September 2022: A meeting was held with the Physics faculty members regarding terms and conditions in the evaluation process and regarding switching the manual voting to electronic voting using google.doc

  • The objective is to enhance STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathmatics) education and research program in Physics at the University.
    AMU once led India in atomic spectroscopy
