Astronomy 161 - Winter 2008
Professor Terndrup

Lecture 2, 1/07/08
The Daily Motion of the Sky

A human sundial

The notes available through the main Astronomy 161 page will be very brief. They will contain reading assignments, lists of vocabulary words, and commentary on various aspects of astrophysics. For more detailed notes, see the Astronomy 161 web site on Carmen. You can use these pages as short summaries, and the Carmen stuff for more detail. If you print the Carmen material before lecture and bring the printout to class, you will see it is closely tied to my presentations. You can therefore follow along and save a lot of note taking.

Reading: Chapter 2, sections 2.1 and 2.2.
