ASASSN-16fq: Supernova in M66!

On May 28, 2016, ASAS-SN discovered ASASSN-16fq, a Type II SN in M66. This is the closest supernova discovered so far by ASAS-SN, out of 340+ discoveries to date. Here we show a beautiful false-color image made by amateur astronomer and ASAS-SN team member, Dr. Joseph Brimacombe. As always, stay tuned!
